Billing and Credits
Understanding OutSales billing, credit system, subscriptions, branding bonus, and managing your payment.
Billing and Credits
OutSales uses a credit-based billing system. Each completed follow-up email counts as one credit. This guide explains how billing works, how to monitor your usage, and how to manage your subscription.
Accessing Billing
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Billing from the dropdown, or navigate to Settings > Billing.
The Billing page shows your subscription details, usage, branding options, usage history, and invoices.
How Credits Work
Your monthly credit allowance is calculated as:
Total Credits = (Seats Purchased x Credits Per Seat) + Branding Bonus
For example, if you have 2 seats with 200 credits each and the branding bonus active, your total is: 2 x 200 + 200 = 600 credits per month.
Each time an activity reaches the Completed stage (email sent and cycle finished), one credit is consumed.
Credit Counter
Your current credit usage is always visible in the header, next to your avatar. It shows a fraction like "45/200" indicating how many credits you have used out of your total allowance for the current billing period.
Subscription Card
The subscription section of the Billing page displays:
- Plan name (e.g., "Pro")
- Billing status -- Active, trialing, past due, or cancelled
- Seats purchased -- Number of team member seats
- Total credits -- Your full credit allowance for the period
- Billing period -- Start and end dates of your current cycle
Usage Meter
The usage meter provides a visual bar showing:
- Credits used -- How many credits you have consumed this period
- Credits remaining -- How many credits are left
- Overage count -- If you exceed your allowance, the overage count shows how many extra credits were used
- Overage rate -- The per-credit cost for usage beyond your allowance

Branding Bonus
OutSales offers a +200 bonus credits per month incentive if you keep the "AI Generated by Outsales.ai" branding link in your emails.
How It Works
- Branding on (default) -- A small "AI Generated by Outsales.ai" link appears in your emails, and you receive 200 extra credits per month.
- Branding off -- The link is removed from your emails, but you lose the 200 bonus credits.
Managing Branding
On the Billing page, find the branding card:
- The toggle shows whether branding is currently enabled.
- To turn it on, simply flip the toggle. You will see a confirmation: "Branding enabled -- +200 bonus credits active."
- To turn it off, flip the toggle. An incentive dialog appears explaining the bonus you will lose and offering to keep it. You can choose "Keep branding (+200 credits)" or "Disable anyway."
Note: During your trial period, branding is required and cannot be turned off. The toggle will be locked with a "Required during trial" label.
Billing Alerts
If there is a billing issue, alerts appear in two places:
- Billing status banner -- A banner below the header appears on all pages when your trial is ending or a payment is required.
- Action blocks -- If your payment is past due, actions like approving and sending emails or regenerating activities will be blocked with a message directing you to update your payment method.
Managing Your Subscription
Click the Manage Subscription button on the Billing page to open the Stripe billing portal. From there you can:
- Update your payment method
- Change your subscription plan
- Update billing information
- View and download invoices
- Cancel your subscription
The Stripe portal opens in the same window and returns you to the OutSales billing page when you are done.
Usage History
If available, a usage history chart shows your credit consumption across previous billing periods, helping you identify trends and plan your usage.
Invoices
The invoice section at the bottom of the Billing page lists your recent invoices with:
- Invoice number
- Amount and currency
- Status (paid, pending, failed)
- Billing period
- Date issued
Tips
- Monitor your usage -- Keep an eye on the credit counter in the header to avoid unexpected overages.
- Keep branding on -- The 200 bonus credits are a significant addition to your monthly allowance at no extra cost.
- Address billing issues promptly -- Past-due payments block email sending and processing. Update your payment method in the Stripe portal as soon as you receive a billing alert.
